MEDICAL RECORDS
Medical records can only be released with your written authorization through the patient fusion portal. A medical records release form is enclosed for your use. You are responsible for obtaining previous medical records from other physicians or health care providers. Please contact your physician or other health care provider to obtain these records. 

CONSULTATIONS
​Your initial visit will include a 60-minute medical consultation with your physician and, if deemed beneficial, a 35-minute session with a certified health coach. Nutritional therapy and laboratory/diagnostic testing are integral components of your treatment plan. Test results are used to uncover the root cause(s) of your medical condition and to design your personalized wellness program. Nutritional supplements and medical foods are often recommended and we will help you select and find the highest quality products. Follow-up visits are 45-minutes. 

Our primary goal at Aum Healing Center is to provide you with the highest level of personalized medical care. We are 100% committed to guiding you toward achieving your greatest health potential. LABORATORY RESULTS
​Many of the tests require an 8-hour fast. You can drink water during this fast. Costs of all testing will be reviewed with you by our staff after your medical consultation before labs are drawn. You will receive all final lab results and be guided through their interpretation at the time of your follow up visits. Lab tests and results will only be discussed during appointment times.
CONFIRMATION AND CANCELLATION OF APPOINTMENTS
Due to the overwhelming requests for new patient consultations, there is a 72-hour cancellation policy, and your appointment must be confirmed prior to your scheduled consultation. If you need to reschedule an appointment, we kindly ask that you give us 3 full business days notice or you will be charged a $100 cancellation fee.
PAYMENT OPTIONS
Our office accepts cash, checks or credit cards (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express) for services rendered that are not covered by insurance. When you schedule an initial visit, we require a credit card on file to hold the appointment for you. No charges will be applied to your credit card unless you miss (no-show) or cancel an appointment without proper notice (3 full business days). On the day of your scheduled appointment, all charges for consultations (medical and nutritional) as well as laboratory testing will be itemized and reviewed with you. Payment is due on the day of service.

Follow-up phone consultations will be billed to your credit card on file in our office unless you provide other payment information and instructions prior to your appointment. If additional lab tests are required and our office sends test kits, the appropriate fees will be charged to your account.
INSURANCE INFORMATION
Aum Healing Center does accept certain insurances (Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim) but we cannot assure you that services (office visits or lab tests) will be fully covered or reimbursed. You will be provided with diagnosis and procedure codes to assist you with possible insurance reimbursement. You are responsible for any payments your insurance does not cover. 
We do not submit medical claims on your behalf and we are unable to assist you with claim resolution. All services are strictly on a self-pay basis; however we will provide you with a detailed billing summary that you may submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement. Please note that there may be procedures and laboratory tests that are non-covered due to your individual policy/plan type. Should you have any questions regarding your medical coverage, please call the telephone number on the back of your insurance card.

PRESCRIPTION REFILLS
An appointment within three months of the request date is required for a prescription refill. We take your care very seriously and this includes closely monitoring prescription medications to ensure you’re on the proper dosage. If you have not been seen in three months by the Doctor, please call the office to schedule a follow-up appointment. 


SELLING NUTRITIONAL AND HERBAL SUPPLEMENTS
​According to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as amended, Section 201(g)(1), the term drug is defined as an “article intended for use in the diagnosis, cure, mitigation, treatment, or prevention of disease.” Technically, vitamins, minerals, trace elements, amino acids, herbs, or homeopathic remedies are not classified as drugs. However, these substances can have significant effects on physiology and must be used rationally. In this office, we provide nutritional counseling and make individualized recommendations regarding use of these substances order to upgrade the quality of foods in a patient’s diet and to supply nutrition to support the physiological and biochemical processes of the human body. Although these products may also be suggested with a specific therapeutic purpose in mind, their use is chiefly designed to support given aspects of metabolic function. Use of nutritional supplements may be safely recommended for patients already using pharmaceutical medications (drugs), but some potentially harmful interactions may occur. For this reason, it is important to keep all of your healthcare providers fully informed about all medications and nutritional supplements, herbs, or hormones you may be taking.

You are under no obligation to purchase nutritional supplements at our clinic.

As a service to you, we make nutritional supplements available in our office. We purchase these products only from manufacturers who have gained our confidence through considerable research and experience. We determine quality by considering: (1) the quality of science behind the product; (2) the quality of the ingredients themselves; (3) the quality of the manufacturing process; and (4) the synergism among product components. The brands of supplements that we carry in our facility are those that meet our high standards and tend to produce predictable results.
While these supplements may come at a higher financial cost than those found on the shelves of pharmacies or health food stores, the value must also include assurance of their purity, quality, bioavailability (ability to be properly absorbed and utilized by the body), and the effectiveness. The chief reason we make these products available is to ensure quality. You are not guaranteed the same level of quality when you purchase your supplements from the general marketplace. We are not suggesting that such products have no value; however, given the lack of stringent testing requirements for dietary supplements, product quality varies widely.
